![]() According to Murder Machine the first murder he participated in directly was the killings of Khaled Daoud and Ronald Falcaro in 1979, although he played smaller roles in other murders beforehand. He actually provides many more accounts then Dominick does about killings by the Crew, and many more specifics, but of course he also admitted he didn't participate in most of the crews murder until 1980. Freddy DiNome, turned informant, was a close friend of Demeo, and participated in many murders, as disclosed by his testimony against the crew, but never finished his deal for the FBI when he commited suicide in 1985. Also Dominick's line of information ends in 1979, when he fled New York, while the Crew continued to operate until 1982 united, and apparently had its bloodiest year in 19. He was much closer of a friend of Henry Borelli, and says he got alot of information from him. Dominick was also never on the greatest of terms with the Crew, kinda an on and off relationship, if you guys have read Murder Machine, you will know that he was hated Chris and the Twins, and after Danny Grillo was killed by the Crew, Dominick was extremely pissed about and basically the 'friendship' he had with the Crew was over and any of communications were now mostly business related. Dominick Montiglio, most obvious, who is where most of the information we have comes from, but he was never a core member of the Demeo Crew, he worked directly for Nino Gaggi, and most of his information comes from visiting the Gemini for Payment collections, and what he heard directly from Roy and the rest of the crew. That is because the people we have information from is somewhat limited. Much of the full extent of the Demeo Crew's crimes still lies in the unknown. The other core members of the DeMeo crew were all charged and imprisoned for life.R/Mafia Rules & Resources This sub-reddit features stories, interviews, documentary and news articles about organized crime around the world. Paul Castellano was eventually indicted for the murder of Roy DeMeo but he himself was taken out in December 1985. However in the book by Philip Carlo on Anthony Casso’s life it states that Gaggi wasn’t present and that DeMeo was seated about to drink a cup of coffee when the other 3 opened fire on him. Other stories did emerge that Richard Kuklinski had been the man to eliminate DeMeo but law enforcement never charged him with the crime. In terms of who pulled the trigger speculation has it that it could have been Nino Gaggi, Patty Testa, Anthony Senta or Joseph Testa. Little is known of the events that went on but around 10 days later he was found in the back of an abandoned car trunk. On JanuRoy DeMeo attended a meeting at one of his crew member’s houses the crew member was Patty Testa. ![]() The Day of His Death East Flatbush Neighborhood He ended up going to a confession before his death, and never left the house without carrying a concealed shotgun under his jacket. John Gotti and Gene Gotti passed the contract, and so did Frank DeCicco as they couldn’t get to DeMeo. The only problem was, no one wanted to take the contract because DeMeo was well known for killing at least 38 people and he was surrounded by a crew of killers. During one wiretap the FBI uncovered a conversation between Angelo Ruggiero and Gene Gotti where they discussed that the Gambino boss had put a contract on DeMeo’s head as he was causing too much heat on the family and its operations. In 1982 the FBI were putting a lot of pressure on DeMeo in relation to missing and murdered persons, and so, the FBI put the Gambino mobster under surveillance watching his every move. The crew became famous for car thefts across the city and most notably for how they disposed of their victims. Over time he would lead his own crew, known as the DeMeo crew who were suspected of killing over 100 people in a ten year spell from 1973 until 1983. He was first spotted by Gambino associate Nino Gaggi who tempted him into the family through loanshark projects. Roy DeMeo was a member of the Gambino Crime Family through the 1960’s to the early 1980’s.
